Q. Why do I have to pre-order my juice online?
A. All of our juice is hand-crafted and made-to-order in limited quantities. Our goal is to maintain a zero-waste process, therefore, juices must be pre-ordered online 48 hours in advance. A truly sustainable operation wastes nothing, especially not food.
Q. Does Freshpress offer juice cleanses?
A. We believe drinking fresh, raw, cold-pressed juice daily to be a great way to get essential nutrients. But it's also important to have a balanced diet. When properly nourished, your body is a very effective detox machine and we don't think drinking only juice for a day or two is going to help this process long term, and may even do more harm than good! So we don't recommend juice cleanses as a cure-all, instead one of the best things you can do for your health is sort out your daily diet and include a good mix of vegetables, some fruit, protein, healthy fats, fibre and plenty of water.
Q. What about all the sugar in juice?
A. It is very important to make the distinction between added sugars and sugars that occur naturally in foods like fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are healthy foods that contain water, enzymes, vitamins and various micronutrients, as well as some naturally occurring sugars.
Freshpress only uses fruit and a little lemon to add natural sweetness to our juices. If you have further concerns about total sugars in your diet please email our nutritionist (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Q. Where's the pulp?
A. We try to filter out as much pulp as possible to your body can quickly absorb the goodness (but fibre is good too! So eat as part of a balanced diet).
Q. What about fibre?
A. Juicing does remove the fibre from fruits and vegetables, which is found in the pulp and skin of produce and aids in digestion, regulates blood sugar levels, and keeps you feeling full longer. While cold-pressed juices are a brilliant way to flood your body with essential nutrients and vitamins, whole foods are still the best way to ensure you're getting plenty of fibre in your diet.
Q. Should I drink RAW juice if I'm pregnant?
A. It's recommended you consult your doctor before eating raw products if pregnant (though cooking absolutely everything you eat while pregnant, including fruit & vegetables, sounds crazy to us).
Q. Pretty pricey! Why are the juices so expensive?
A. Almost half a kilogram of fresh vegetables and fruit goes into every bottle and good things, like cold-pressing, take time. We've tried to get the cost down as much as we possibly can while still creating the highest quality juice.
Q. Where are they made?
A: We make our juices in an A grade commercial kitchen and juicery in Mt Roskill.
Q. Why is my juice separated? Is it spoiled?
A. Freshpress is all natural; we do not filter, preserve or add any fillers. Separation is natural and, as long as juice is within the 'use by' date and refrigerated properly, separation does not indicate spoilage. Always refrigerate your juice, shake before consuming, and enjoy on or before the use by' date.
Q. Do you accept returns?
A. Returns and exchanges are not permitted. We run a tight ship and make everything by hand. If you suspect a problem with Freshpress juices, let us know immediately and we will remedy the situation.
Q. Why do you use plastic bottle?
A. Glass bottles can sometimes create complications in a high volume kitchen. Breakage and efficiency in terms of sealing and bottling are a problem. We use plastic BPA free bottles, which are recyclable.
Q. Can i collect my order?
A. You are more than welcome to come and pick up your order at a time that suits you, our kitchen is located at Unit 7B, 163 Stoddard Road, Mt Roskil, we are open Tuesday - Friday from 9am until 4pm, use code PICKUP at checkout and select when you would like to collect your order.
